Head of Insurance

Gigacover is reimagining business insurance for the future of work. Business models, workforce composition, working norms and the associated risks are rapidly evolving. Our products include insurance for gig workers, freelancers, tech workers, accident as well as liability and operational insurance for businesses. Gigacover builds technology and works with insurer partners to develop and distribute these products.

We are looking for a Head of Insurance to drive product innovation and growth across the business.

Duties and Responsibilities :
You will be part of the executive team and be responsible for the strategy and performance of our insurance product lines. This position will carry new business targets.

1). Strategic Leadership
(a) Work with co-founders to develop a go-to-market strategy around insurance and risk protection opportunities.

(b) Acquire key strategic clients in the Philippines and Singapore as part of top-line responsibilities. (c) Analyze and monitor insurtech developments in regional markets to maintain our desired competitive position.

(d) Secure and maintain supplier (insurers, reinsurers) relationships to ensure strong underwriting support and continuity for all our products.

2. Product Development
(a) Drive the development of new insurance products across multiple geographies by working with primary carriers, reinsurers and regulators.

(b) Work closely with the product and ops team to ensure user experience, claims experience and risk management are implemented to achieve targets in profitability and loss ratios.

Requirements :
(a) Deep knowledge across multiple classes of insurance.
(b) Experience with digital innovation or product innovation within the insurance industry
(c) 10 - 12 years of experience in a multinational insurer or broker, including experience in product development.
(d) 3 - 5 years in business development or sales function.
(e) Desire to want to take ownership and succeed in a volatile, uncertain and complex environment.
